The European Light Microscopy Initiative (elmi) is coming to Liverpool, UK, in 2024!
Created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment, elmi strengthens the channels of communication between researchers, core facilities and industry, promoting light microscopy as a fundamental research tool for the life sciences. The annual meeting has been running for two decades at venues across Europe, and has become a key fixture in the calendar of hundreds of scientists and developers.
The RMS is delighted to be hosting elmi2024 in Liverpool – a vibrant, modern city, proud of its rich heritage and renowned for its friendly people. The UK’s fifth biggest city is also famously home to the legendary Beatles, Liverpool and Everton Football clubs and the annual Grand National horse race at Aintree Racecourse. It also boasts two cathedrals and more grade II listed buildings than anywhere else in the country outside of London. The meeting itself is taking place at the award-winning ACC Liverpool conference venue, located on the banks of Liverpool’s UNESCO world heritage waterfront and within walking distance of Liverpool City Centre and a wide range of historical attractions. Meanwhile, the beautifully renovated 1950’s Rum Warehouse on Stanley Dock, will serve as the venue for the ever-popular Event dinner with networking. The city of Liverpool certainly embodies the spirit of elmi: innovative, inclusive and progressive, with a rich history!
Meanwhile this year’s Organising Committee is putting together a blockbuster meeting programme covering all the latest techniques, applications and technology.
The accompanying exhibition will take place in the purpose-built hall alongside posters, lunches and dinners, excluding the Event dinner with networking which will take place close by at the Rum Warehouse. A wide range of companies will be on hand to showcase their latest technology and run workshops timetabled outside of the main meeting programme. These popular workshops are a proven elmi highlight, allowing for interactive demonstrations and inspiring discussions. Exhibiting companies will have the opportunity to book one of 17 different sized workshop rooms on a first-come, first-served basis. There will also be a limited number of opportunities to extend the standard shell scheme space in the exhibition hall to accommodate a smaller, on-stand workshop (maximum capacity x 10).
We look forward to seeing you there!
